If you are a Sound of Music fan, you must visit the town of Salzburg, located about three hours away from Vienna. There are a few different tour companies that will show you the famous sites where the movie was filmed (even sing-a-long bike tours!) but if you're short on time or traveling with young kids, consider taking your own self-guided tour with the help of this fantastic guide.
While in Salzburg, check out the shops located in the Mozartplatz area. Here you will find beautiful Christmas shops filled with stacks of gorgeous ornaments made from eggs.
