SEE
There are lots of places to see in Athens, while Santorini is more for relaxing. When visiting Athens, don't miss the Parthenon, Olympic Stadium, and Acropolis Museum.
SHOP
The shops in Santorini are great. Really great variety available at all price points, but I loved purchasing blue glass evil eyes (or mati) for my home. Very Greek and a cool souvenir to remember the trip, but also kind of bold and modern enough to easily display in your home.
STAY
If you visit Santorini, you MUST stay at the incredible cave home AirBNB we stayed at, known as the Turquoise Tranquility Villa. I'm not usually a huge fan of AirBNBs, but this location was so incredible and probably the best view on all of the island. The view is so great in fact that there are several brides and models who pose for photos right outside the gate. Some people may be annoyed by the traffic, but we loved it because we would ask the passerby photographers to take a quick family photo for us, too. And in exchange, we invited them in through the gate to get a better shot with the domes. My kids loved the detached bunk room that doubled as their playground. Great for families or groups, don't miss your chance to stay here. Also kind of cool to see the AirBNB in souvenirs and postcards of Santorini.
SAVOR
The food in Greece is insane and in my opinion, the best in the world. Here are a few of my favs, located in both Athens and Santorini:
Scala Vinoteca (Athens): Gourmet dining experience but also family friendly.
Karamanlidika (Athens): With almost 6,000 4.5 star reviews on TripAdvisor, this place is a must visit! The neighborhood around this area can be a little sketch, but just think about the gorgeous charcuterie board awaiting you!
Lukumades (Athens): Lukumades are basically fried dough traditionally covered in honey and cinnamon. This sweet spot takes lukumades to the next level with filling creams, ice creams, and an assortment of toppings.
to Psaraki (Santorini): Eat fresh seafood overlooking the ocean.
Metaxi Mas (Santorini): Incredible restaurant a bit off the beaten path and often full of locals. Try the Pork Tenderloin with feta sauce for a mind blowing experience.
pitoGyros (Santorini): Quick, cheap, and easy food to eat on the go if you're in a hurry. All the heart eyes for the grilled halloumi pita.
