SEE
The two major things to see in Prague is the castle and the Old Town area. If you only have a few days to spend in Prague, I suggest strolling through Old Town the day you arrive and having lunch in the main square. The next morning, take an early cab to the castle and spend a few hours touring the castle grounds. If you're visiting Prague during peak travel time, it's best to visit the castle as early in the day as possible, as the castle is the main attraction in the city and the line can get quite long.
There are several different sections of the compound to visit, as well as food and shopping. After touring the castle, walk out the front gates and head towards the left (passing the Starbucks cafe) and walk down the big hill, towards Old Town and across the famous Charles Bridge. Along this street, you will find several tourist shops, restaurants, and my personal favorite, The Gingerbread Museum!
SHOP
The Gingerbread Museum: Here you will find various flavors of gingerbread cut into every shape you can imagine, nicely wrapped in cellophane bags and ready to bring home with you!
Manufaktura: With various locations in Old Town, Manufaktura is the best shop to find a variety of authentic Prague products. I've found many great treasures in this shop, one of my favorite being a nativity set made of corn husks.
STAY
There are many lodging options in Prague, including American-branded hotels (Hilton, Marriott, InterContinental) and countless AirBNB's. I suggest staying in Old Town or close to the Charles Bridge.
SAVOR
No trip to Prague is complete without sampling authentic Prague ham in the Old Town square, as well as hot trdelník (chimney cakes) filled with nutella and ice cream!
